Amelia J. Novak (nee-Koepke), 85, of Elyria passed away Monday November 21, 2016 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a long illness. She was born December 5, 1930 in Amherst and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Amelia worked at the former Worthington Ball Company in Elyria as a core winder for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed camping, traveling, making pierogies and spending time with her family. Survivors include her sons, Rodger (Paula) Novak and Mark (Shelley) Novak; grandchildren, Kim (Victor) Barbee, Tina (Wayne) Frazier, Michael Novak, Matthew Novak, Ryan (Stacey) Novak, Lyndsey (Tim) Klepsky, Taylor Novak and Halley Novak; great-grandchildren, Victor and Devin Barbee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul on October 25, 2012. The family will receive friends Sunday November 27, 2016 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte United Methodist Church 2071 Grafton Rd., Elyria or to the Washington Avenue Christian Church 301 Washington Ave. Elyria.
