Alvah T. Brewer 78, of Elyria passed away Thursday April 19, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a short illness. He was born June 29, 1933 in Crossville, TN. Alvah had served in the U.S. Army, and was a core finisher at The Elyria Foundry. He enjoyed playing the lottery, fishing, and travel. Survivors include two daughters; Debra M. Hayes (Jim) of Houston, TX, Linda S. Whalen of Shippenville, PA., a son; Victor T. Brewer of Houston, TX. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister; Wynette I. Shrum of Crossville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; Elmer and Lima (nee: Suggs) Brewer, and three sisters and two brothers.
