Alex Scott Jr., 89, of Elyria passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 29, 1933 in Blackberry, KY .Alex enjoyed playing guitar, bluegrass music, gardening, flea markets and working on mowers. Survivors include his daughters, Gertie Balogh (Jeff Garnett), Lilly Scott, Betty Lunn; sons Rick (Amy) Scott, Clifton (Lisa) Scott; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude (nee Chapman) in 2014; son James; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; parents Alex Scott Sr. and Lilly (nee Whitt). Family will receive friends from 10AM until time of service at 12 Noon Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626. Pastor Jeff Baker will officiate. Burial  will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens (Avon).
