Albert Richard Plas 85 of Carlisle Twp. passed away Friday October 2, 2015 . He was born February 13 , 1930 in Carlisle Twp. and was a 1948 graduate of Elyria High School. He worked as a plumber for C.W. Barres Plumbing for 30 years , was a plumbing inspector for the City of Elyria for 12 years , member of Carlisle Zoning board for 12 years, member of the Farm Bureau Council , and he was an officer of Carlisle Civic Council. Albert was in the United Sates Army as a Corporal. He was also a lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish in Elyria. Survivors include daughter Kathy (Joe) Yourkiewicz of Carlisle Twp. , son Andrew ( Yong) of Arizona , sister Jean Sittinger (Howard deceased) of North Ridgeville , 5 grandchildren , 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife June in 2014 , parents Edward and Mary (nee Faulkner) , brothers Art , Ted , Ed , Dennis , and Don. Family will receive friends 9-11AM Friday October 9, 2015 in the Weigand Room at St. Mary , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Ave. (Elyria). Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Burial Private, with full military honors by VFW post # 1079.
