Albert E. Born, 78, of Elyria passed away Sunday May 6, 2012 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born March 11, 1934 in Reedsville, WV. And was a Lorain/Elyria area resident since 1951. Al was employed as a millwright at the Ford Motor Co. in Brookpark for 50 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Elyria. He graduated from Arthurdale High School in 1950 at the age of 16, and was a lifelong motorcycle rider and was affiliated with the Penton Owners Group as a trustee and secretary. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, gardening, and bicycling. He was also a avid fan of the Keystone High School girls softball team. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Marjorie (nee-White) daughters, Loretta (Dave) Rositano and Deanie (Frank) Shukait both of Lorain; sons, John (Lori) Born of Lorain and Doug (Linda) Born of Sheffield Lake; step-daughter, Regina Beall of Normantown, WV.; step-son, Rick Parsons of Normantown, WV.; grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, Lisa, Lynne, Rachel, Mark, Megan, Stephanie, Thomas and Hannah; step-grandchildren, Kourtney, Bradley and Jodie; great-grandson, Julian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Ruth Born, sisters, Mary Ellen Murray and Irene Taylor and brothers, Robert and Ernest "Jack" Born. The family will receive friends Thursday (today) 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church 38550 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Friends may also call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Darrell Myers will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
