Alan Leonard Bescan, 71, of Grafton passed away Saturday September 14, 2024 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1952 in Elyria and was a lifelong Grafton resident. Alan was a 1971 graduate of Midview High School and from 1973 until 1976 served with the United States Navy as a Quartermaster on the USS Anchorage LSD-36 stationed in San Diego, California. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Grafton until retiring in 2009. Alan was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians/Guardians and would travel annually to Arizona for spring training. He was also a lover of local history. Alan enjoyed spending time collecting classic rock vinyl and attending concerts. Survivors include his wife Denise (nee-Bradley); son, Evan (Karen) Bescan; daughter, Hannah Bescan; grandchildren, Wesley and Clara. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melba in 1994, father, Leonard in 2011, and brother, David in 2017. The family will receive friends Thursday September 26, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.
