IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aimee C.
(Priever) Fisher
November 11, 1931 – August 16, 2025
Aimee Fisher (nee Priever): Beloved wife of Robert Fisher (deceased) and beloved mother of Jeffrey Hunger (deceased) and James Hunger. Beloved sister of Josephine Sabol and Eric Priever (deceased). Beloved aunt of Margaret Hnat. Throughout her life, Aimee was passionate about the ballet. She began taking class at a local YMCA as a teen and loved to tell the story of her performance in The Firebird during which she leaped onto the stage from atop a school desk hidden by the curtains. She continued ballet classes as an adult at Elyria's Virginia Stevens School of Dance and even performed in a recital with the other adult ballerinas. Aimee also loved the opera, and she and her sister never missed an opportunity to attend the Metropolitan Opera performance during their Cleveland tour stop in the 1970s. At one performance, dressed in their gowns, Aimee and Jo approached the orchestra pit. Aimee asked the tympani drum player "How much spaghetti can you cook in that thing?" He laughed with her and `stirred his pot' "Quite a lot!" Aimee also loved attending the Oberlin College student opera performances and held season tickets for many years.
Aimee and her sister also enjoyed many adventures together. They traveled to Atlantic City for James' Coast Guard boot camp graduation, to Paris, France where Aimee got to see her favorite artworks by Monet and Degas, to Las Vegas where they stayed at the Luxor (Aimee loved all things Egyptian art) and to Toronto for a performance of The Lion King. But not all adventures were glamorous. One adventure saw the pair traveling to Hershey, PA. Lost, Aimee's sister spotted a Hershey's Chocolate truck. "Follow that truck!" Jo shouted. And Aimee did. Success.
At home, Aimee was an excellent cook and baker. But most remarkable was her dedication to the craft of quilting. Her quilting adventure began in the early 1990s when she decided to take a class at the local library. With no sewing experience, Aimee thought she would just have to sew a square or two. Oh, no. The project entailed an entire quilt. All hand sewn and hand quilted. With the support of her husband Bob, a drafter, he helped her with the quilt patterns to lay on the fabric for her cutting and sewing. Not only did Aimee complete that project but also, she hand stitched two more quilts.
Aimee Fisher will be remembered for her devotion to and love of her family, her perseverance in the face of hardship, and for her beautiful bright blue eyes and smile.
