Adolph Symbol 92, of North Ridgeville went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by loved ones on Saturday November 22, 2025.  He was born September 14, 1933 in Rocky River, and had served in the United States Army.  Adolph was a member of Faith Baptist Temple in North Ridgeville. He was an outstanding gardener; and was best known to greet everyone with a big smile, and either a bouquet of flowers or a quart of strawberries. Adolph and his wife; Barbara ran Symbol's Greenhouse for over thirty years.  He was an avid fisherman, and had fished Lake Erie for many years; later he surf casted the Atlantic Ocean, earning the nickname "Old Man of the Beach" by other local fisherman. Adolph loved spending time with both family and friends.  Survivors include two daughters; Carol A. Holston (Ron) of Murfreesboro, TN, Barbara A. Symbol-Hirt (Dave) of Perrysburg, OH.  Additional survivors include his grandchildren; Tamara Crase (Dave), Amanda Holston, David Hirt (Lauren), Ben Hirt (Julie), Great grandchildren; Zachary Crase, Sarah Crase, Anastasia Hirt, and a sister; Mary Sievert of Oregon, OH.  Adolph was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty nine years; Barbara A. (nee: Hetrick), a son; William R. Symbol, his parents; Adolph A. and Caroline (nee: Wachter) Symbol, and a sister; Estelle Pastorelle. The family will receive friends 9-10:30 Am Monday December 1, 2025 at Faith Baptist Temple 34361 Lorain Rd. North Ridgeville, Oh 44039 where funeral services will be at 10:30 AM immediately following visitation. Pastor James Barta Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, OH.
