Obituary for Wilma B. Yanick

Wilma B. Yanick (nee Becker) 88 of Elyria passed away Saturday September 5, 2015 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a short illness.She was born July 3, 1927 in Wellington and was a graduate of Camden High School and Oberlin Business College. Wilma worked for Worthington Products as the Administrative Assistant to the President. She was a member of Washington Ave. Christian Church and the VFW Woman's Auxillary. Wilma was an accomplished Golfer till age 86 and Bowler where she was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2013, she was also a voracious reader and an expert at crossword puzzles.Survivors include her daughter Linda (Michael) Hummer of Napolean, Oh , sons Dan (Patricia) of Strongsville , Michael (Sandra) of Lorain , grandchildren Nichole , Shaun , Lindsey , Brian , Brandon , Robert , Christopher and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam in 1984 , parents William and Agatha (nee Lawrence ) , sisters Kathryn , Lois , brothers George , Russell. Family will receive friends 4-7PM Tuesday September 8, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626. Graveside Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Ridgehill Memorial Park ,followed by Memorial Services at 11:30 AM at Washington Ave. Christian Church (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Dr. Rev. Janet Long Pastor will officiate. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the Church. Online condolences may be expressed at
