Obituary for Todd Shoemaker

Todd E. Shoemaker 66 Elyria passed away Sunday September 5, 2021 at New Life Hospice, Lorain following a prolonged illness. He was born May 20, 1955 in Lima, Ohio and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Todd was a self-employed painter, worked hard, and was always ready to help anyone. He was a 1974 graduate of Elyria High School and was active on the wrestling team and wrestled at the state competition level. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family. He is survived by his children: Jacob Shoemaker of Elyria, Allison Tesmer (George) of Oberlin, and Katie Lunsford (Ross) of Dayton. Brothers Danny Shoemaker and Larry Shoemaker. Sister Sue Gessner (Jeff, Dec’d) of Grafton, a good friend Julie Vargo of Elyria, and his loved dog Stella. Friends may call Wednesday September 8th from 4-6pm at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626 where a celebration of life service will begin at 6:00pm. Internment will be private. Memorials may be forwarded to the Love a Stray animal shelter, P.O.
