Obituary for Shirley A. McKinney

Shirley A. McKinney (nee Bodenheimer),83, passed away September 22, 2019 at Tidwell Hospice in Bradenton, FL. following a short illness. She was born November 11, 1935 in Rochester, N.Y. Shirley was a retired Bakery Manager for Convenient Food Mart on Cleveland Street and Apples Grocery Store on Abbe Rd. both in Elyria. She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxillary. Shirley enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, alterations, euchre, pinochle, Wii bowling , bingo, scrabble, woodworking, painting, drawing, plant and flower gardening, loved visits with friends and family, she also enjoyed sharing and teaching her hobbies with everyone. Survivors include her children Raymond Frank (Valerie) Fields of Bradenton, FL., Brenda Slater of Elyria, OH., Sue Senn of Elyria, OH. ,Lois (Robert Page) Cowart of Palmetto, FL., Robert (Michelle) Elder of Vermilion, OH.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter ; brother John E. Bodenheimer Jr. of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her parents Irene C. Bodenheimer (nee Young) and John E. Bodenheimer Sr.; daughter Irene C. (Elder) Duffield. Celebration of Life will be held 1 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626.
