Obituary for Robert C. Zaremba

Robert (Bob) Zaremba 86 of Grafton passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 at Keystone Pointe in La Grange following a long illness. He was born June 23, 1928 in Cleveland, and moved with his family to Grafton in 1942. Robert graduated from Belden High School in 1947, and was a valedictorian of his class. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was very active in the Holy Name Society, he was also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Robert and his father started Zaremba Construction in 1950 and they built many homes in the Grafton area, where he continued to build homes until he retired and then did maintenance work at Immaculate Conception. Bob enjoyed many trips and cruises and made a scrap book of each. He joined the Holy Name Society each month for "66" card game , they also met at Bob's house in the winter months. Robert married Agnes Wirkner in 1950 and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in May. Other survivors include daughter Linda (Ken) Diedrick and grandson Keith of Wisconsin, sister Shirley Hollis and sister-in-laws Eileen Fricke and Lucille Vasel, also many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Margaret (nee O,Connell), brother Albert. Family will receive friends 4-7PM Monday March 30, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626 , and 9-10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St. Grafton where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10AM. Rev. Fr. John Seabold Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace and Rev. Fr. Charles T. Diedrick of St. Mary will con-celebrate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery (Grafton). In lieu of flowers family suggest those who wish may make donations to ALS Association Ohio Chapter 6155 Rockside Rd. Independence, Ohio 44131. Online condolences may be expressed at
