Obituary for Richard L. Holstein

Richard L. Holstein 80, of Elyria passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a short illness. He was born December 18, 1934 in Racine WV. Richard was a machine operator at General Motors retiring in 1995 following thirty two years of service. He loved spending time with his family, but his passion was playing and watching baseball. Richard played for the Detroit Tigers Farm team. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, and was a member of The Elyria Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife of thirty four years; Carol J. (nee: Webber), three daughters; Debra L. McBryer (Samuel) of Lorain, Tammy J. Lord (Ray) of Milton, FL, Donna K. Holstein of Lorain. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Bernard and Sadie (nee: King) Holstein, and two sisters. Family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM Saturday January 3, 2014 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.( at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 1:30 PM immediately following visitation. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
