Obituary for Paul Vonley Sherrill

Paul V. Sherrill, 85, of Carlisle Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday March 7, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 14, 1936 in Crab Orchard, Tennessee and lived in Carlisle Township most of his life. Paul worked at the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 32 years, retiring as a supervisor. He served in the United States Air Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a member of AMVETS Post 38 and the Oberlin V.F.W.. A Elyria High graduate, Paul enjoyed golfing, taking many golf trips and he also enjoyed having breakfast at Choo-Cho’s in LaGarange. Survivors include his daughters, Yvonne (Lee) Gnagy and Renee’ Bush (Jeff Losneck); grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Kehl, Ryan (Amanda) Gnagy, Cara (Josh) Reynolds and Matthew (Rebecca) Bush; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Chris) Sherrill and Patrick(Helen) Sherrill.He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2007; sisters, Bernice Stephens, Eunice Williams and Iris Sherrill and brothers, Denny and Gilbert Sherrill. Private graveside services were here held Thursday March 11, 2012 at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, The Rev. Chuck Behrens Officiated. Military honors were provided by AMVETS Post 38. Funeral arrangements were provided by the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Online condolences may be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com
