Obituary for Norbert F. "Bert" Supers

Norbert F. "Bert" Supers, 91, of Oberlin passed away Thursday December 18, 2014 at Rae-Ann Suburban Nursing Home in Westlake following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 16, 1923 in Lorain and was a Oberlin resident for most of his life. Bert worked as a rail conductor for the Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin, was a W.W. II Army Air Corps veteran, was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club and a life member of the Elyria V.F.W. Post 1079. Survivors include his sons, Gregory (Jacqueline) Supers of Vermilion ; Ronald (Cindi) Supers of New Philadelphia and Elliott (Charlotte) Supers of North Ridgeville; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa in 2010, daughter, Connie Supers in 2013, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends on Monday December 29, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a 10:00 a.m. Christian Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart Church 410 West Lorain St., Oberlin. The Rev. Fr. Robert J. Cole, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In liue of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the P.S.R. program at Sacred Heart Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Online condolences may be expressed at
