Obituary for Josephine A. Klingshirn

Josephine A. Klingshirn, (nee-Pasadyn), 94, of LaGrange passed away Sunday May 24, 2015 at her daughter's home following a long illness. She was born December 17, 1920 at home. She was a 1938 LaGrange High School graduate and was chosen to be the May Queen in the second grade. She was a active lifetime member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church (formerly Assumption), baptized on January 9, 1921, where she married Clement G. Klingshirn Sr. and had all of her children baptized there. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Sodality, served as a sacristan, organist, choir member and cleaned the church for many years. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Sr., sons, Clement Jr. and William Klingshirn, parents, Karl and MaryAnn Pasadyn, sisters, Lena Puka, Harriet Barden, Connie Szabo and Pauline Thomas, brothers, Michael, Walter, Benny, Alex and Frank Pasadyn. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Judith (Clem) Klingshirn of LaGrange; sons, Leonard (Sally) Klingshirn of San Diego, CA. and Rick Klingshirn of Grafton; daughters, Kris (Ray) Gidich of Lorain and Ann (Brian) Hetsler of LaGrange; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many close nieces and nephews. She enjoyed gardening until last summer. In earlier years, she really enjoyed cooking and baking meals for her family and was planning a feast up until her last few days. She was famous for her home made pierogies on Christmas Eve and homegrown mulberry cherry tart in the summer. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, art, music, playing the organ and teaching her children and grandchildren the art of music. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday May 29, 2015 at the church. The Rev. John P. Seabold, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton. In liue of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The Eternal Word Network (EWTN) 5817 Old Leeds Rd. Birmingham, AL. 35210. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Online condolences may be expressed at
