Obituary for Jimmy R. Waddell

Jimmy R. Waddell, 65, of Elyria passed away Monday September 3, 2018 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 2, 1953 in Cleveland and was a Grafton resident for most of his life. Jimmy was formerly employed as a job setter at the General Motors Corporation and was also formerly employed at BeeValve Manufacturing. He was a member of the Oberlin V.F.W. Post 6273 where he played in their golf league. Survivors include his companion of 12 years, Glenda Ford; daughter, Jamie (Michael) Inman; son, Adam Waddell; step-daughters, Ashley and Lindsey; grandchildren, Bianca, Nykole, Korena, Cole, Andrew and Coralynn; sisters, Linda Jaudon and Rena Schmidt; brothers, Ted and Johnie Waddell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Texas Waddell. A celebration of life gathering will be held 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday September 16, 2018 at the Oberlin V.F.W. Post 6273 located at 42369 Oberlin/Elyria Rd., Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oberlin V.F.W. Post 6273. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Online condolences may be expressed at
