Obituary for James Henry Beran

James Henry “Bear” Beran 68, of Elyria passed away Friday June 23, 2017 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born February 19,1949 in Lorain and was a 1967 graduate of Avon High School. James worked for CSX as an Engineer. He proudly served his Country in the Marine Corps. during Vietnam. James enjoyed trains, watching sports with his grandchildren, but especially watching his grandchildren play sports, as James has said he was a great dancer. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Janice (nee Brooks); daughters Melissa Beran of Lorain, Kimberly (Joe) Plato of Elyria; son Shawn Beran (Meghan McCauley) of Vermilion; grandchildren Kaleigh and Kelsey Plato, Clayton Agnew; great granddaughter Paityn Pierce; sister Joan Beran of Lorain; brother Ron Beran of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Martha Beran (nee Dechant). Family will receive friends 4 PM until time of service at 7PM Monday June 26, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria.. 440-322-4626, where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079. Burial Private. Online condolences may be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com
