Obituary for Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Kennedy

Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Kennedy (nee: Orr) 76, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center on Wednesday July 3, 2019. She was born June 27, 1943 in Rockford, IL. Cindy was a member of First Congregational Church in Elyria. She had worked as a server at Friendly’s Restaurant in Elyria for twenty five years. Cindy treasured spending time with her family, and enjoyed reading, putting on garage sales, playing cards, shopping, gardening, bake sales, and wintering in Florida. Survivors include her husband of forty nine years; Kyle L. Kennedy, three daughters; Lisa M. Simo (Michael) of Sheffield Village, Lori A. Hornbeck (James) of Elyria, Traci R. Kennedy-Brockfield (Michael) of Columbus. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren; Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Julie, Cory, Lindsey, Jimmy, Bridget, Tyler, and four great grandchildren; Lily, Payton, Ryleigh, Lucy, and a sister; Maryann Ehlen (Bill) of Sun City West, AZ. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; John and Lucille (nee: McFalls) Orr. A celebration of Cindy’s life will be 7:00 PM Monday July 8, 2019 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where the family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until time of services at 7:00 PM. Pastor Jim Thornton will officiate. Burial will be private at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Memorial contributions in Cindy’s memory can be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
